The Replicant

Lilla and I had a super day on the Replicant, on the Trophy wall on Mt.Rundle. It was a wee bit windy, but just enough to remind us of winter in the warm temperatures we are experiencing these days in the Bow Valley. I was a bit nervous because it was my first ice climb of the season, but it has been well travelled and the ice was in great condition. There were lots o’ mushrooms and interesting features to keep it super fun. I think some of my rock climbing fitness is transferring to the ice arena, woo hoo! Speaking of ice arenas… at one point when some ice came down it sounded like a slapshot in a hockey rink, oh so canadian!

God Damn! That brings back memories. Still one of my favorite routes ever. Looking forward to seeing you and Lilla down in Hyalite next week.
